Riyadh Airport Shut, Jeddah Under Threat! Houthis To ‘HIT’ More Saudi Airports; MBS’ Worst Nightmare
Saudi Arabia’s aviation crisis is deepening as Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis threaten further attacks on the kingdom’s airports. After a deadly strike forced Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to shut down, Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport is now facing widespread flight cancellations, delays and heightened security concerns. More than 150 flights were cancelled at Jeddah on Sunday, with hundreds more delayed, according to flight-tracking data. Indian carrier IndiGo has suspended flights to Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Madinah until October 17, while Etihad has also suspended selected Jeddah services. Washington has urged caution over travel through major Saudi airports. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is preparing a potential military operation in Houthi-controlled Sanaa, raising fears of further retaliation. With Riyadh shut and Jeddah under pressure, will the crisis spread across Saudi Arabia’s aviation network?
