Donald Trump has opened the door to direct U.S. military involvement in Saudi Arabia’s escalating war against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis after the deadly attack on Riyadh’s international airport.

Asked whether the United States could join Saudi strikes, Trump replied: “We may. We’re going to look at it.” He added that Washington had only just learned of the latest attack and said: “We will make a decision. We move very quickly.” Reuters reports that the U.S. is considering joining Saudi military action after a Houthi-claimed strike on Riyadh airport killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 300.
