Palestinian father killed near Nablus as settler pogroms and home demolitions continue
A Palestinian man has been killed in the occupied West Bank, as Israeli settlers, accompanied by Israeli forces, attacked Palestinians picking olives near the town of Burqa, close to Nablus. Sixteen other Palestinians were injured, including four paramedics.
The man's 10-year-old son and his three siblings are now orphans. Survivor Abdel Latif Bazzari said the settlers attacked for over half an hour while Israeli soldiers looked on and guarded them.
In Biddu, near occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli forces demolished the home of Qadri Samara, who is accused of carrying out a shooting attack last September. Soldiers left a banner saying those who attack Israel will bring destruction to their homes. Neighbours say their windows were shattered by the three blasts used to level the building.
According to the UN, more than 600,000 Palestinians have been affected by home demolitions over three years, with at least 9,300 forcibly displaced.
