Britain may need to rely on foreign suppliers to build the Tories’ proposed Britannia Shield air-defence system, the shadow defence procurement minister has told a Telegraph event at Conservative Party Conference.

Mr Obese-Jecty appeared alongside the Telegraph’s senior foreign correspondent Sophia Yan and Justin Hedges, founder and CEO of defence consultancy Prevail Partners.
Mr Hedges called for a 'Manhattan Project' to improve Britain's national resilience, while Ms Yan shared her personal experience of being monitored by China's “draconian tech surveillance”.
