‘OOZES OF DESPERATION’: Araghchi Rejects Trump’s ‘Iran Expulsion’ Story; ‘You’ve Chosen WAR…’

A fresh diplomatic battle has erupted between Washington and Tehran over what happened to Iran’s delegation after the UN General Assembly. US officials say Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the Iranian delegation to leave New York, while an American official separately claimed two diplomats who remained behind were eventually “kicked out.” Iran rejects that account. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the delegation left according to a previously communicated schedule and accused Washington of portraying a routine departure as a political victory. He described the rhetoric as reflecting “desperation and defeat.”
Araghchi also delivered a broader warning to Washington, saying Iran is better prepared if the United States again chooses military action, while maintaining that Tehran remains ready for diplomacy. He argued that the US had “lost in both war and diplomacy” and said neither military pressure nor additional sanctions could resolve the confrontation.
