New details emerge about Omani co-pilot accused of attacking flydubai pilot

An Omani co-pilot accused of attacking the pilot of flydubai flight with a cockpit axe had been banned from flying by Oman over fears he had adopted extremist views, it has been reported.

It has also been revealed that Hamam al Hammami studied at a British university.

Al Hammami is alleged to have struck Capt Smit Machchhar on a Tel Aviv-bound flight from Dubai in an attempted hijacking, Israeli officials have said.
