One in five new UK cars is Chinese as low prices challenge British carmakers

One in five new cars on British roads is now Chinese, driven by low prices for high-spec models that do not face tariffs in the UK unlike across the European Union.

The rapid growth of brands like Chery Group's Jaecoo puts fresh pressure on UK manufacturers, following Jaguar Land Rover's announcement of 4,000 job cuts.
