Ottawa police are investigating two downtown stabbings that left a 55-year-old woman and another man with life-threatening injuries. CTV's Katelyn Wilson reports that Inspector Cory Robertson says investigators are reviewing evidence to determine whether the consecutive attacks near Rideau Street and the Ottawa Mission were random; Ottawa mayoral candidate Mark Sutcliffe has announced a 10-year, $10-billion infrastructure plan to address population growth and housing demands ahead of the upcoming municipal election. CTV's Dylan Dyson reports that the incumbent mayor intends to fund the massive project through tax revenue and development charges while asking other levels of government to contribute; and OC Transpo has rolled out the first of 52 new articulated diesel buses. CTV's Peter Szperling reports that transit operations director Rami El Feghali says the new 60-foot vehicles will dramatically reduce breakdowns and improve reliability for riders.
