HORMUZ IN FLAMES: Tanker Hit By ‘Mystery Projectile’; HIGH ALERT For Ships Near Iran | Watch

Another commercial vessel has been hit in the Strait of Hormuz, with the UK Maritime Trade Operations agency reporting that an LNG tanker was struck by an unknown projectile. In a September 30 warning, UKMTO said it had received a verified report of an incident inside the Strait. Authorities have not yet confirmed who fired the projectile or what type of weapon was used. The agency has urged commercial vessels operating in the area to remain on high alert, transit with caution and report any suspicious activity. The incident comes as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to rise, with commercial shipping increasingly facing the risk of attacks, interception and disruption. The Strait is a critical maritime chokepoint connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and is one of the world's most important routes for energy shipments. With another vessel now reportedly hit, uncertainty over the safety of commercial traffic through the waterway is growing — even as military forces remain heavily deployed around the Gulf.
