Inside the UN: What happens at the General Assembly | RTÉ News

What is it actually like inside the United Nations General Assembly?

Every year, world leaders, diplomats, campaigners and experts descend on New York for one of the biggest gatherings in international politics.

But beyond the speeches and the headlines, what actually happens?

We take you inside UNGA to explore the people, places and stories behind the event - from who sits where in the General Assembly chamber, to the flags lining the streets outside the UN, the side events happening across New York, and the Irish people and issues at the heart of High-level week.

Our reporter Sinéad Courtney goes behind the scenes, meets people from around the world and explains how the UN works - and why what happens here matters to Ireland.
