Carney Trounces Trump In Trade War? After Canada’s Double Shock, U.S. Hints At Deal With Ottawa

Donald Trump says he expects the United States and Canada to eventually reach a trade agreement, arguing that Ottawa wants a deal and remains heavily dependent on access to the U.S. market.

Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump accused Canada of unfair trade practices and high tariffs on American goods, while predicting Ottawa could begin removing some barriers in the coming weeks. He said an agreement was possible, but only if Washington considers the final terms fair to the United States.
