‘KEEPS TOUCHING XI’S ARM…’: Trump’s Unusual ‘HANDS-ON’ Gestures With Chinese President Go Viral

Donald Trump’s repeated arm pats, handshakes and physical gestures toward Xi Jinping during the Chinese president’s U.S. visit quickly became a talking point online, with social media users joking that Trump appeared unusually “touchy” with the Chinese leader.

A body-language expert told the South China Morning Post that some of Trump’s gestures could be interpreted as attempts to project hierarchy, while Xi remained formal and later returned a back pat of his own. The interpretation is subjective, but the exchanges added another viral layer to the high-stakes summit.
