‘NO GREATER CRIME’: Once-MAGA Ally Tucker Carlson Demands Trump’s Removal Over Iran War | Watch

Tucker Carlson has called for President Donald Trump to be removed from office under the 25th Amendment, sharply escalating his criticism of Trump over the Iran conflict. In an interview with NPR’s Newsmakers, Carlson said Trump should have been removed by his Cabinet “the moment he threatened a nuclear attack.” Asked whether he was referring to the 25th Amendment, Carlson said yes. Carlson, once one of Trump’s most prominent political allies, has become a vocal critic of the president’s Iran policy. He has argued that Trump’s threats of nuclear escalation crossed a line that should have prompted intervention by members of his administration. Section 4 of the 25th Amendment provides a constitutional process in which the vice president and a majority of the principal executive-department officers can declare that a president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office. If the president contests that declaration, Congress ultimately decides whether it remains in effect, with a two-thirds vote of both chambers required to keep the vice president as Acting President. The provision is distinct from impeachment: Section 4 concerns presidential inability, while impeachment and conviction are separate constitutional mechanisms for removal.
