Pro-Tibet protesters took to the streets of Washington, DC, as Chinese President Xi Jinping met US President Donald Trump at the White House. Hundreds gathered near Lafayette Park, chanting against Xi and calling for a “Free Tibet.” Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also joined the protest, urging continued US congressional support for Tibet. The demonstrations came as Xi began his first state visit to the US since 2015.
