The suspect accused of opening fire outside a synagogue in Belleville Sunday night has died in hospital. CTV's Austin Lee reports 29-year-old Sean Ward of Quinte West was a former Canadian Armed Forces soldier who served nearly five years with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Investigators say Ward was armed with a shotgun and exchanged between 20 and 30 shots with police outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue. Ottawa police have increased patrols outside synagogues and Jewish community centres following the shooting.
