Russia claims gains in Donetsk as maps show conflicting realities

Russia has spent this year pushing to capture the remaining parts of Donetsk, with military bloggers describing the situation around Lyman as “difficult” and fighting as intense, but not a retreat. Official maps tell competing stories: TASS shows Lyman and nearby towns under Russian control, while Ukraine’s Deep State says they are Ukrainian-held.
