A Russian drone attack damaged residential buildings across Kyiv hours before Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with Donald Trump at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Debris from an intercepted drone struck a five-storey apartment block, sparking a fire and forcing the evacuation of residents. Four other high-rise buildings were damaged, while Ukrainian prosecutors reported five injuries. Zelenskyy is seeking an agreement under which Russia would stop attacking Ukrainian power plants, heating systems, ports and critical infrastructure in exchange for Kyiv halting strikes on Russian energy facilities.
