Parts of the media would rather report on "people proposing that we have a pogrom to eliminate refugees" than cover "serious and worthy" policy proposals by the Lib Dems, says an ex-adviser to Sir Nick Clegg.

Polly Mackenzie, who advised both Sir Ed Davey and Sir Nick Clegg, tells Sky's Cathy Newman that "populist ideas" are more interesting to the media "because they're much more dangerous".
