Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen is intensifying his criticism of U.S. support for Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, arguing that American taxpayers should not be giving Israel what he calls a “blank check” while Gaza remains devastated and the wider Middle East reels from war with Iran.

Van Hollen has repeatedly pushed for conditions on U.S. military aid to Israel and says Washington should not be complicit in the destruction of Gaza. His latest attack comes as the Trump administration moves ahead with a proposed $2.8 billion munitions package for Israel, including tens of thousands of 2,000-pound bombs, much of it financed through U.S. military assistance.
