Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer launched a blistering attack on Donald Trump after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by a quarter point, arguing that the president’s Iran war and tariff policies are driving up costs for American families. The Fed lifted its benchmark rate to 3.75%–4% as officials continued to battle persistent inflation.

Schumer accused Trump of “bleeding Americans dry” through tariffs and is pushing his End Trump’s Tariff Tax Act, which would roll back the latest tariff measures, including those targeting Canada. He also blasted the cost of the Iran war and said Democrats would force another War Powers vote as pressure grows over fuel prices, inflation and the broader economic fallout.
