After Kiem’s biological mother returned home and Kiem went back to school, life for me, Kiem, and Thu returned to our usual daily routine.
While Kiem was at school, I went into the forest to cut some suitable bamboo and wood. I brought them home and used my own hands to build a small swing for Kiem in front of our house. I simply hoped that when he came home from school, he would have a new place to play and make more happy childhood memories.
When Kiem returned from school and saw the swing that Dad Nick and Thu had prepared for him, he was so happy and excited. Seeing his joyful smile made all the hard work of the day feel worthwhile.
Sometimes, life does not need big or expensive gifts. A small swing, made by the hands of people who care for you, can bring a child so much happiness. ❤️
