The US military is facing growing pressure after months of war with Iran, with reports pointing to extensive damage at American bases, aircraft losses, depleted air-defense interceptors and increasingly difficult logistics across West Asia. Never-before-seen images reportedly show a damaged $300 million E-3 Sentry aircraft with its tail ripped from the fuselage after an Iranian strike.
US officials cited by The Intercept warn that sustained Iranian attacks on American bases and warships could eventually push US military operations toward a “breakdown.” A Pentagon inspector general report has also highlighted damage to hundreds of structures, aircraft losses, depleted Patriot and THAAD interceptor stocks and major logistical challenges.
