A public company told the SEC its founder received a vision from God in 1977. It spent $64,462,002 looking for oil under Tasmania. More than 16,000 people bought in. Not one barrel of commercial oil ever came out of the ground.
That founder is Malcolm Bendall. Today he is the inventor behind the Thunderstorm Generator, the water-fed plasmoid device introduced to millions on the Joe Rogan Experience in 2022.
We pulled the SEC filings, five transcripts from the floor of the Tasmanian Parliament, the 2009 ABC investigation, the Panama Papers database, and every page of the inventor's own open-source notes. This is not a story about a machine. It is a story about how a claim gets believed. Twice.
