Steve Smith has accepted his omission from Australia’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad but says he is not ready to walk away from T20 internationals.

The Australian batter, who has started the Big Bash League season strongly, has set his sights on representing Australia at the LA Olympics 2028, when cricket returns to the Olympic stage after more than a century.

Smith says he still wants to play in major tournaments for Australia and is determined to keep himself in contention for Los Angeles.
