Marawi siege survivor casts first vote in Philippines’ Bangsamoro election

Millions of Filipinos are voting in the first parliamentary election in the Muslim-majority southern region.
It marks a major step towards self-governance after decades of conflict.

Many of the young voters participating in the elections are survivors of the 2017 siege that destroyed Marawi City.
