Welcome to Sit and knit for a bit with ARNE & CARLOS — a relaxed conversation about Norwegian knitting, Scandinavian knitting traditions, yarn, textiles, travel, books, creativity and everyday life in Norway.
In this episode, ARNE & CARLOS return home after extraordinary journeys to Svalbard and Greenland and settle into autumn in Norway. We talk about knitting projects, Norwegian wool, our Svalbard sweaters, a mystery knit-along, our new ARNE & CARLOS sock yarn, and the inspiration behind its beautiful, muted colourways.
We also explore Norwegian knitting traditions and Scandinavian colourwork, including the Telemark collection and traditional Norwegian patterns. And, naturally, the conversation wanders — into scrapbooking, books and reading, gardens, rural life in Norway, cows, Canada geese, and the many creative projects that keep us busy.
Travel is always part of our creative life, and we look back at some of the places we have visited this year, from Norway, Svalbard and Greenland to South Africa, Italy and beyond, while looking ahead to our upcoming knitting journeys and textile adventures.
There is also a very special and emotional moment in this episode as we share a beautiful French beaded memorial artwork made in memory of Freya by our dear friend Marilyn.
And, of course, there is plenty of ARNE & CARLOS humour, knitting talk and the occasional detour along the way.
