With Aerin and Orin at his side, Varic leaves the fortress behind and takes the road towards the capital — and Corvin, the brother who murdered their father and stole his crown.
Elsewhere, the elven harbour burns beneath winged beasts. The orc king gathers his forces at the river. Beyond them stand the dwarven mountain gates, and a darkness that must never wake.
Then a wizard crosses Varic’s path.
And deep in the mountains, a dragon opens its eyes.
