Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy deliver a strong message on continued support for Ukraine during their meeting in Calgary, amid ongoing Russian attacks and uncertainty over the path to peace.

Carney announced a C$350 million air-defence package for Ukraine, including funding for critical interceptors, while Canada also committed to expanding drone production and providing additional financing for Ukraine’s energy security ahead of winter. The two leaders also signed a 100-year partnership declaration covering defence, energy, trade and technology cooperation.

The developments come as Carney says Canada and the U.S. continue to work together on supporting Ukraine despite tensions between Ottawa and Washington, including ongoing trade disputes. Carney has also spoken with U.S. President Donald Trump about Ukraine and Iran.
