Ontario Premier Doug Ford has taken a fresh swipe at Donald Trump, saying he hopes the U.S. president loses both the Senate and the House in the midterms as the Canada-U.S. tariff war intensifies.
Ford accused Trump of repeatedly targeting Canada, called him an unreliable partner and said Canadians “just don’t like President Trump” because of the impact of his policies on jobs, businesses and families. He also predicted Trump wants a deal before the midterms, even as tensions between Washington and Ottawa continue to rise.
