Volunteer lifesavers told to hide logos after anti-migrant protester abuse | The Cathy Newman Show

Volunteer lifesavers at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) have been advised not to wear the charity's branding in public after receiving "unacceptable abuse" from anti-migration protesters.

Volunteers helped bring around 120 migrants, who were attempting to cross the Channel in a small boat, to shore in Portsmouth on Sunday. Footage circulated on social media showed protesters calling the volunteers "traitors" and accusing them of "treason." Lib Dem home affairs spokesperson Max Wilkinson will be on the show to discuss.

Also on tonight's show, the government has announced that regional mayors will be given powers to impose a tourist tax on both domestic and foreign visitors to their areas. Sky's Ali Fortescue will be joined by Oliver Coppard, Mayor of South Yorkshire.
