One dead, one critical after fiery head-on crash

A fiery head-on crash in Ottawa's southwest end has left a man in his 20s dead and another driver in critical condition. CTV's Katie Griffin reports that emergency crews responded to Fallowfield Road just west of Old Richmond Road overnight and found both vehicles on fire and 25 metres apart. Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says bystanders extricated a man in his 30s who sustained very serious injuries before paramedics stabilized him for transport to the hospital. First responders used thermal imaging cameras, a drone and a police canine unit to search the area, but no other victims were found.
