🖌️ Two Watercolors by Winslow Homer (c. 1878) - A rare pair of works showcasing two sides of Homer's technique, one loose and immediate, the other layered with pencil, watercolor, and gouache. Painted early in his career in Gloucester, Massachusetts, these pieces capture the beginning of the style that made him one of America's greatest watercolorists. Homer's works have sold for as much as $4.5 million at auction, with one painting privately selling for a reported $30 million in 1998.
