Passengers describe chaos as hundreds more flights cancelled across UK airports | BBC News

Images have shown passengers sleeping on airport floors as more than 300 flights were cancelled on Wednesday after Tuesday’s technical problem at air traffic control.

Some 1,750 flights were cancelled on Tuesday, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium, with hundreds of thousands of passengers affected by the chaos.

Nats, the air traffic control provider, has apologised for the issue - the firm's boss Martin Rolfe says there will be an investigation.

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham's spokesman says the government has confidence in Rolfe and they're expecting to see a report into the issue in a week's time.
