Yash has reportedly restructured his financial arrangement for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological epic Ramayana, choosing a performance-linked business deal instead of a fixed acting fee.
According to reports, the KGF star will not take an upfront acting fee of ₹100 crore for portraying Ravana. Instead, Yash is reportedly set to acquire the theatrical distribution rights for both parts of Ramayana across major South Indian markets.
The reported arrangement covers Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Yash is already associated with the ambitious two-part film as a co-producer through his production banner.
Under the reported deal, Yash’s returns will be linked directly to the box-office performance of the film in his distribution territories. If Ramayana delivers strongly across the southern markets, his earnings could potentially exceed the ₹100 crore remuneration he would have received under a conventional fixed-fee arrangement.
The reported deal also highlights a growing trend in the Indian film industry, where major stars are increasingly opting for profit-sharing arrangements, equity, co-production stakes and territorial distribution rights instead of traditional fixed acting fees.
