DR Congo Ebola Outbreak | 3,200 Dead As UN Warns Of Funding Crisis

DR Congo Ebola Outbreak: The Ebola crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo is worsening, with more than 6,600 people reportedly infected and over 3,200 deaths recorded. The United Nations has warned that a severely underfunded humanitarian response is making efforts to contain the outbreak even more difficult.

The outbreak has affected six provinces, with Ituri and North Kivu among the worst-hit areas. More than 800 patients are currently in isolation, while thousands of contacts remain under follow-up.

The UN says conflict, displacement and weak health systems are hampering the response. Only around half of the planned $2.1 billion humanitarian response has been funded, prompting an urgent appeal for additional resources.
