Putin & Xi’s Arctic MASTERPLAN: Russia, China’s ‘SECRET’ JOINT Operation To Build New Trade Empire
Russian and Chinese scientists have jointly conducted on-site sea-ice observations in the Arctic Ocean for the first time, aboard China’s Xuelong 2 research vessel. The team studied ice thickness, concentration, weather and atmospheric conditions to improve climate research and navigation forecasts. Strategically, the information could also support the proposed Polar Silk Road along Russia’s Northern Sea Route. Under favourable conditions, journeys between China and northern Europe can take approximately 18 to 20 days—avoiding the Suez Canal, Bab al-Mandab and Strait of Hormuz. But seasonal navigation, limited infrastructure and severe environmental risks remain major obstacles.
