Many shoppers say they are choosing to support local businesses as trade tensions continue to simmer between Canada and the United States. CTV's Natalie van Rooy reports that Perth General Store co-owner Megan Adams says 95 per cent of her product is Canadian because U.S. tariffs make importing unfeasible. Shoppers David Cotton and Amelia Garvey say they want to keep their money in Canada to help build the local community and industry. The store opened in June 2025 during the early days of the trade war and has recently seen a resurgence in support from customers who are making the trip to shop Canadian.
