Wet 3D printer filament can cause stringing, ugly surfaces, brittle prints, and all kinds of problems. But vacuum bags, individual filament dry boxes, filament dry box diy solutions can be expensive, inconvenient, and require way more maintenance than I have the patience for.
The Sunlu i10 takes a different approach, using a self-regulating desiccant dry loop to create a self regulating, 10-spool filament dry box - for less than $200!
So to put it to a "real world," imperfect filament dry box test, I filled the Inslogic i10 filament storage box with a mix of dry, semi-dry, and properly waterlogged filament to see what it could actually do. We’ll test how quickly it lowers humidity, how well it recovers after being opened, and whether it can slowly pull moisture from PETG, TPU, and even PA-CF without using a traditional 3d printer filament dryer.
Could the Sunlu i10 finally be the filament storage solution that lets me throw a spool in a cabinet and never think about drying it again? The answer is a little more complicated than I expected, but this might be one of the most useful 3D printing products I’ve tested in a long time.
