This is End of Watch. Probably the most realistic police movie ever made, and by a lot of people considered one of the best cop films of all time. End of watch feels almost like a documentary, shot like real bodycam footage from police officers on duty. While other cop movies often try to impress the audience with a lot of action, violence and crime. End of Watch tells a more grounded story, about two ordinary police officers, working on the same dangerous streets day after day, with no guarantee they make it home at the end of their shift. But it also takes it a step further… The reason End of Watch feels so real is because to a large degree, it actually is. Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena actually worked as police officers in LA for several months, training with the Los Angeles police department and even accompanied them to crime scenes.
