US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Kyiv in a renewed diplomatic push to end the war in Ukraine, marking the first visit by the pair and the highest-level members of the Trump administration to visit Ukraine since the war began. Ahead of the meeting, President Zelenskyy posted on social media: "Ukraine has always been and will remain constructive. We are interested in bringing the end of the war closer. Peace is needed, security guarantees are needed." Ukraine and Russia confirmed a 72-hour pause in attacks on each other's capitals during the envoy's visit—which has held so far—but attacks elsewhere have continued, with Russian strikes killing four people in the Kharkiv region overnight.
