I may have found the coolest 3D-printed mountain bike tool yet—and it costs only about 30 cents to make.
Adding tubeless sealant is usually messy and inconvenient. You can unseat the tire bead, struggle with a syringe that clogs, or refill a tiny sealant bottle. This clever 3D-printed tool offers a much simpler solution.
It threads directly onto a Presta valve and performs three useful jobs:
• Unclogs the valve
• Works as a dipstick to check the sealant level
• Gravity-feeds fresh sealant directly into the tire
I printed several of these in PETG on my Bambu Lab X2D in about 30 minutes. The funnel fits between the spokes, holds approximately the right amount of sealant and eliminates the need for a syringe.
This is exactly where 3D printing shines—not necessarily for major structural bike components, but for inexpensive tools and small solutions that make working on your bike easier.
I also demonstrate the portable electric pump and compact repair stand that I regularly use for bike maintenance.
