The USS Abraham Lincoln’s long-awaited Thailand port visit has erupted into controversy after two U.S. service members were reportedly involved in a drunken brawl near a Pattaya bar. The sailors were taken to a joint U.S.-Thailand operations center before being returned to the aircraft carrier and confined for the remainder of the visit. The incident comes after the Lincoln completed a record-breaking 286 days at sea, supporting U.S. military operations during the Iran war. Pattaya’s notorious nightlife and red-light districts have also drawn attention as sailors finally got a chance to go ashore after months at sea. What was meant to be a break has turned chaotic.
