LINDSAY CLANCY MURDER TRIAL: A Massachusetts judge has declared a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the high-profile case involving Lindsay Clancy, the mother accused of killing her three young children.

The 36-year-old Clancy admitted to killing her children — five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan — but her defense argued that she was not criminally responsible because she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time.

After seven days of deliberations, the 12-member jury remained deadlocked. Reports indicated the jury was split 11-1, with the defense arguing that one juror was preventing an insanity acquittal. The judge ultimately declared a mistrial after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision.

Prosecutors argued that Clancy intentionally planned the killings and understood the consequences of her actions, while the defense maintained that a severe psychiatric episode left her unable to understand or control what she was doing.
