Diesel prices are skyrocketing as the war in Iran pushes fuel costs higher, with Ottawa prices set to jump 18 cents this week. CTV's Dylan Dyson reports farmers are feeling the impact as harvest season gets underway. At Jockbrae Farms near Ashton, owner Mark Foster says the operation spends upwards of $50,000 a month on diesel during peak season. Farmers are trying to improve fuel efficiency through GPS routing and on-site dryers, but say there is little they can do to absorb the rising costs. Fuel price expert Dan McTeague says there is no relief in sight and warns higher diesel prices will ultimately contribute to rising inflation.
