Why did Apple Maps just rename Lake Ontario? | BBC News

Apple has renamed Lake Ontario as Lake America on its Maps app, after an order from US President Donald Trump.

It's all part of Washington's trade row with Canada.

The change was made for US-based users - those in Canada will continue to see Lake Ontario displayed. The BBC has contacted Apple for comment.
