US Ally Pays For Iran Strike; Supertanker Blown Apart In Chilling IRGC Mine Attack | WATCH
Tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have escalated dramatically after a supertanker was reportedly hit by two naval mines in the southern part of the strategic waterway. According to Iran's state media, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the vessel caught fire and was forced to halt after the explosions. The IRGC claimed the tanker was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz illegally and warned that any ship violating its security regulations would face the same fate. The incident comes just after the U.S. military struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island, with Washington saying the launchers posed an imminent threat to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The latest mine incident also comes days after President Donald Trump declared that all mines in the Strait had been removed or destroyed, raising fresh questions over security in one of the world's most important energy corridors.
