1.5 Hours in Manhattan and Tesla FSD 14.3.8 Never Flinched Once!
Tesla FSD 14.3.8 (with the Summer Update) on the Model X HANDLES NYC pedestrians with ease!
In this drive I took the Model X through nearly 1.5 hours of Manhattan traffic to see how 14.3.8 deals with the hardest pedestrian environment in the country. Crowds spilling into crosswalks, sudden step-offs, jaywalkers, and the constant unpredictability that makes this city so brutal to drive in.
The jitter that was still there on 14.3.7 is FINALLY gone. No twitching, no second-guessing, no hesitation around people. Confident, smooth, and decisive every single time. This is the biggest single-point-release improvement I've seen in a while.
Street parking is still the weakest link by far. It barely gets the job done and it's clearly the piece that hasn't kept pace with the rest of the stack. Hoping v14.4 or v15 is where that finally gets solved. Everything else? It's there.
Let me know in the comments which pedestrian interaction impressed you most!

📱 DriveLab
An app I built to log FSD drives like this one. One tap, or just say it out loud, when the car does something noteworthy. Then export straight to Final Cut, Premiere, or Resolve with every event already sitting on your timeline as a named marker. No more scrubbing an hour of footage to find the moment.
