Liftoff is targeted for 7:26 a.m. EDT (11:26 UTC) on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
The Roman Space Telescope is NASA’s next flagship observatory. With a 2.4-meter mirror and a massive 300-megapixel wide-field infrared camera, it will survey the sky 100 times faster than Hubble, helping scientists unlock the mysteries of dark energy, dark matter, exoplanets, and the evolution of the universe.

Destination: Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point (~1.5 million km from Earth)
Primary mission: 5 years (with propellant for much longer)
