Mary Knight’s 1950s Home Restoration | The Beautiful Interior Tour

A 1950s home on Saint Simons Island is beautifully resurrected in this stunning before-and-after transformation.

Mary Knight had ridden by this classic estate on Old Demere Road for years before finally taking the leap and bringing it back to life. She added a front porch balcony that looks as though it had always been there, replaced small windows with generous door openings to flood the home with natural light, and thoughtfully reimagined every detail. The result is a true masterpiece - an elegant living room and seating area, a fabulous dining room, immaculate grounds, and a stunning pool, all set on a large wooded parcel surrounded by a national park.

This is a true family affair. Ernie founded Floor Decor, and Mary evolved her design shop, Seaside Home, into the ten-thousand-square-foot Restoration Imports showroom she now leads with daughter Brittany. Son Ryan runs their stone and countertop business in Brunswick, making them a complete one-stop design destination.
