Hard to Believe It’s Time.. || August 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already talking about a fall garden! Summer may still be hanging on, but around the homestead it’s time to start thinking about the season ahead.

We start the morning with a walk down by the creek garden, checking on things and enjoying a little time together before getting to work. Then it’s time to get our fall garden planted! This year we’re keeping it fairly simple with raised beds full of cabbage, broccoli, and collards.

There’s something about this time of year that always catches us by surprise. After a long summer of planting, picking, preserving, and trying to keep up, suddenly things change gears for a different season.
